Leadership in behavior analysis is not a new concept. However, this does not seem to be the focus of our behavior analytic work, though there are some incredible benefits to quality leadership that are often overlooked. Patrick O’Leary discusses the importance of rapport-building behaviors in supervision and leadership. Additionally, the dynamics of supervision are discussed in the context of behavioral and non-behavioral services. Finally, Patrick highlights appropriate practices for developing effective and meaningful supervisory relationships will be discussed.
