Jennifer Deacon

Jennifer earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology specializing in IDD/DD from East Carolina University in 1995 and has been an LPA since that time. Jennifer has worked at two of the three NC Developmental Centers providing behavior analytic services to adults with severe-profound intellectual disabilities and severe behavior problems. Also, Jennifer has worked on NIH grants and has several publications including, a book chapter from that work. Additionally, while working at the developmental center, she collaborated as part of the Autism Treatment Clinic Team which provided services to families in the community by conducting a formal FBA, psychotropic medication management and behavioral strategies for managing maladaptive behavior. She became a BCBA in 2012. Jennifer has provided specialized consultative services via community agencies, ICF-MR group home services, and Psychology/ABA consultation to an Emergent Respite Center in Burke County for the past eight years. She served on the NCABA board for five years in a variety of roles, including as President. Jennifer joined the Charlotte PBS Team in November 2018 as part-time Lead Analyst/LPA and transitioned to full-time in December 2019 and transitioned to the Regional Coordinator role in June 2020.
